Ancient Newbie here

High school science teacher living in Massachusetts here.

I bought my first jeep, a Cherokee, about a decade ago, but I just bought my first Wrangler. My Cherokee did some light trails but was bone stock. I'd like to make my Wrangler lightly modified so I'm here just to investigate and try to learn what I need to do.

I've got an '06 six-speed X. I'd imagine the first thing is to lift it and put new tires and wheels on it. I'm thinking of the 2" budget boost and then some rockcrawler black rims. I don't know what type of tire yet.

Welcome!

Welcome to the Jeep Wrangler Forum. The administrators do a tremendous job for us. You'll find reliable information and great support here. By the way, there's no such thing as an ancient newby. For Jeep owners its a state of the mind and heart, not the chronological age. Again, welcome!
