Another greeting from Ohio

Hi there,
We just bought a 98 last week! Interior is in excellent condition, but there are some things that will need to be done. Not knowing yet where to post these kinds of things, I'll tell you...the gas tank rusted skid plate is being held up with bungie type straps. Suggestions? Do we need to buy a new skid plate if not off roading, or can we strap up the tank with metal? A few rust spots, no big deal. Flares were painted today. Mirror brackets are totally stripped of their paint, and the bumpers need a freshening. Two tires are bald, but they're no longer made, so now shopping for 4 new ones. One side of the body is missing the Jeep decal. Is there a source for that? I appreciate all of your help! I'm sure we'll be chiming in often! Thanks!

Welcome to the forum KimD.
Anything that you need for your Jeep is available. They are like lego's. You can build them from the ground up and change them any way you want. Someone recently posted a location for the decals, but you can have them made at any local sign shop. As far as the skid plate goes, I would first see if there was any way to adapt it so that it could be re-attached. If not, I would replace it. A good place to start your search for parts is either or I do recommend that if possible you purchase from your local 4x4 parts store. That way you keep the money in your community and you also get to know some locals who can help you out when you have problems.

Welcome fellow Buckeye! I live in Parma. Like JD said, get yourself a Quadratech and 4WD catalog and you should be able to find just about anything you need.

Here's a link to get the qtec catalog: Jeep catalog, Jeep parts catalog, Jeep accessories catalog - Get your Quadratec Essentials for Jeep Vehicles catalog here. - Quadratec

Welcome. I'm west of Cleveland!

And I'd replace that gas tank before it gives you problems.
