another newbie, should be gettin my jeep today. help asap if possible.

I'm set to pick up a 1998 wrangler Sahara 6 cyl. 5 speed after I get off work today. It has 137k. And I'm giving 4300 for it. Only problem that it has is the gauge cluster is messed up, he said odometer reads an error code? And gas gauge is iffy time to time. Ive been reading alot of the forums and this seems to be a pretty common problem in the tjs early yrs. It says remove dash twist male connector very slightly and reinstall. Seems to be everyone's fix. But is there anything else it could be? Didn't see anyone else say there odometer was reading an error code. Would you recommend still purchasing?

Hello to EVERYBODY. And thanks for any/ all help.

Welcome to the forum. Ask the seller to have you meet him at Autozone, or similar, and get the code read. Make your decision from there. You could use the price of parts as a bargaining chip.
