Buying a Wrangler

Hi all, figured I would check in.

I don't currently have a Wrangler, however I had a 95 4cyl for about 6 months and have regretted selling it every since.

I am shopping for another one and have all but made an offer on it. Its a 97 SE with Hard and Soft Tops. 95k miles 4cyl 5sp. One owner. Completely stock except for an aftermarket CD player and trunk box.

What do ya'll think would be a fair offer on it?

Anything I should look for that was a common problem on this year/setup?

It will be my weekend toy plus drive it back and forth to work (2mi)

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your shopping.
kinda depends on the condition its in. Found one exactly like that for $7,900 but I found that one looking for a jeep for my brother-in-law and decided it was a bit much for his income at this time.

Recently returned from the Jeep Dead.

Welcome, Tee, to the best Jeep Wrangler Forum in existence! As to the cost, check out Kelly Blue Book or the NADA web sites. They can be pretty helpful. As to any problems, go to the AllData web site and you can get a list of all service bulletins released on that vehicle year. It will give you a good idea of things to look for. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the welcome.

Looks like I might be getting a good deal then. I have offered 4500.00 for it and I think she is going to take it. Should find out tonight!

I picked up a full set of Rubicon Tires and wheels with 3k miles on them. Will I have any problem putting them on this jeep?
