| Checking in & boy do I need help
What's up?
I drive a 97 Wrangler with 189,000 miles. I never seriously considered getting rid of it, but it does need some cosmetic work. Specifically, I need some carpet because the bare metal floor heats up like a ________ during the summer. Any suggestions for a product that will keep the heat & noise level down?
I am proud to say that all that splashing in puddles when my son was in kindergarten has paid off. He's announced that he wants my Jeep when he's old enough to drive. He's almost 10!!! I better get to work.
Anyway, where's a good place to get stuff to make my baby look eye catching again?
I love my battered, slightly rattling Jeep!!! Any suggestions would be welcome.

If you are really looking to put in carpet again, or some kind of removable flooring, check the big aftermarket sellers, Quadratec, 4wheelParts Wholesalers, and 4wd Hardware. They all have pretty good websites (just put .com after their names) and will have replacement carpet to match factory colors, or rubber mat-like things that fit like carpet. If you don't want to go that route, you can have the whole interior sprayed with bedliner like Line-X or Rhino-Lining. I am not sure about the heat insulation with those products though, haven't done a Jeep personally with that (yet). Good luck, have fun, and make sure to keep us posted on the progress, we always like to help spend other people's money! Oh yeah, and WELCOME TO WF!!!!

first off, welcome aboard! second...we're gonna need some picture to really get an idea of what we're working with so we know where we need to tell you to spend your money!! and i, along with lots of other guys, don't have carpet anymore. i herculined mine a couple years ago. it helps with the noise and heat over not having anything, but not as well as carpet does. much easier to clean and such as you just have to hose out the interior.

Welcome aboard. You might try that rubber matt stuff with the octagon holes in it like you see in the bathrooms in bars and such. It's pretty cheap and you can just cut it to fit your floor boards.

Oh yeah the JEEP wave, isnt it great. The people that really understand what JEEP stands for!!! I have noticed in my area that there are some people that drive Jeeps that dont do the wave so it makes me wander if they really get it or not....I think they just asked their parents to buy it for them so they could try to look cool.

HAHA I was just thinking about this yesterday....I would say that 90% of the Jeeps that I cross paths with do "The Jeep Wave" it's great.....now remember I have only had my Wrangler since the end of Feb, so in the begining it was throwing me off....I was like "who the hell was that? honey do you know them? cause I dont" haha....now it's becoming second nature.

yea, wait till your driving something else, but forget & wave to other Jeepers....you'll get a good laugh. Most of 'em wave at me, a few look puzzled
And of course you notice any other Jeep in a 100 yard radius, checking out their rig I love it! |
