Oohh where to begin?
First let me say that there is nothing like a man and his Jeep on the open road.
The trip itself was an adventure of its own. It was pretty much smooth sailing from Jersey until I hit the Appalachian Mountains in Virginia.
Tennessee is undoubtedly the longest state to drive through though I must say its scenery had to of been the best.
Once I hit Arkansas, it got very isolated, very quick. Nothing but a highway traveling through no where. Quite possibly the most unpopulated region I've ever seen. The thought of breaking down in Arkansas was just terrifying but I had faith in the XJ.
It became apparent that I crossed the border to Texas from Arkansas as the road was well paved and buildings seemed to be inhabited. It was obvious which state had the money
Texas, a state in which I had never been, made me feel welcome. A smile on my face reigned supreme until I calculated how many miles it was until San Antonio
It's a beautiful state to drive through and once you hit Dallas, it's nothing but south.
That's pretty much the excursion in a nutshell. In fact, I can't even recall the drive back.
