Hey everyone! I have a 98 TJ Sport that just blew up it's dana 35. I was told by my other jeep friends that the 35 is a bad unit because of its little self destruction issue. I've been looking for an assembly that has a limited slip differential and can be taken from an auto salvage; like a unit from a ford or chevy- money isn't currently the most plentiful resource as of now haha. Any advice or pointers would be greatly appreciated!!
a dana 44 from TJ will bolt right in, it has a square metal fill plug vs the dana 35's round plastic fill plug on the diff cover. You will need to make sure the axle gears in the new axle match your front axle or 4wd will not work. try car-parts.com for a list of yards in your area.. I think any year TJ dana 44 should work.

They are rare and hard to find, but just scour junkyards for a wrecked Wrangler with a Dana 44 rear end. If you find one, just buy the entire unit as it's a drop in exchange. Don't forget that you will need to match up your gears.
