Dave in CT

Hey; I'm going to order the 4-door on Monday, and I'm curious about peoples' experience with the stock soft v. hardtops. I'm going to want to use the convertible feature once a day during the nice months, but have to store the car outside, so top goes back on at night. Is the hardtop significantly more of a problem for routine use?

Thanks much.

i like having a soft top better, easier to put up of it rains out, with a hard top you are ******. it takes me 4-5 minutes to put the top back up and put the doors back on.

where in CT are you?

Welcome to WF! Everyone has their preference. The hard top needs a large place to be stored (or hung), but it makes the road noise quieter. Soft top is easy to flip up and down, but road noise is louder.

In my opinion you have two options.

#1 From my understanding you get a much better deal if you order the jeep with dual top option instead or buying the hardtop or soft top down the road.

#2 Order with the hard top and keep your eyes open for a soft top locally on craigslist. (I really dont think you will get the full experience unless you pick up the soft top.)

I also live in CT and you can easily get by with just the soft top for the winter but having the option of putting on the hard top for the winter is pretty nice.

Correction to my first post. I'm going to wait a month or two, and order a 2012 with the new Pentastar engine!

Too bad on the Huskies!!! Normally I'd say I'm from Stonington but business has me away. I'm a soft top person even in CT. Why have a jeep if it sounds like a tin can inside. A good cover an investment for those days you aren't driving... but hey everyone has an opinion and opinions are like .....
