Thumbs up Dedicated Jeep owner

Hello all! My name is Dale, and I live along the rugged coast of Maine, and have lived here most of my life. I really love Jeeps and have since I was about 10 when some one bought me a toy army Jeep, and ever since then I had wanted a Jeep, and finally was able to afford to buy a used 1978 CJ7 in 1982 that was rebuilt from the ground up by the previous owner. I had that one for 3 years till someone hit me broadside and totaled it, but that did not stop me from getting another one in 96. My second one was a 94 AMC Wrangler with only 19,000 miles on it, and it lasted me 15 yrs! That one just crapped out with rust problems and a broken frame and a bunch of other problems. Two years ago I bought another one (got rid of a Subaru to buy this one). My current one is a 2001 Wrangler Sport 4.0. It does however have an automatic trannie which I have some issues with a part that is now discontinued by Chrysler, but it is at least still going. I hope to be able to one day change it over to a standard when the current tranny quits. I am glad to have found this community and hope to make some friends here along the way. So thanks for having me!

Thanks guys for the welcome! I will try and answer all questions .
I have owned 3 and have loved them! I have not had the opportunity to get involved in any gatherings or clubs, although that sounds like fun! So currently the wallet prevents that for now, but I love reading off road mags and reading about the Mohab, and looking at all the cool rigs .

For SilverSport, I have tried looking to see if that place really exists but lol nope no luck.. I am a big fan of MASH and Hawkeye!

RufBoy, I live south of you, Bath-Brunswick area. Your rig looks a bit like mine when I first got it except for the top and color. I will add that to my pics soon. I wish I had pics left of my the other 2 I had, but they were the "old snapshots" and have lost them (before wide spread use of digital camera's and computers ).

dabolt55, the Lobster fest in Boothbay, or is there one also in the Camden area?

Thanks again guys!
