driving in rain? benefits of a lift?

Hello all, I am new to this site and to jeeps in general. Thinking of buying a 2012 2dr sport. had read one review that they aren't as stable in rainy weather?? I realize 2012 has even later updates that may help with this. Any thoughts either way? And what allows for best traction in rainy weather?
Also, what are the main benefits of a lift, and of bigger tires (I suppose you can get them for a jeep??) Does that lessen the stability of the vehicle further?
Thanks for any input ...

Lots of good questions. Jeep Wranglers overall are good vehicles rain or shine. Not aware of any stability issues but that may be due to tires, etc. As far as lifts and big tires there are 2 main reasons 1. They raise the vehicle so it won't scrape while going over large rocks, etc. 2. They look really cool

Lots of good info. there.

In the mean time . . .

Thank you much Beastmaster... One other quick question. do you think the base sport tires suffice or are there upgrades that you would recommend for better traction in rain, etc?
