My question is: How long can I go with a cracked Canister? Are there any negative effects on the performance of the Jeep? It may be covered by insurance but it could be a pain in the butt process...so just wondering what my time line might be. Any ideas?
no negative concerns or performance loss, etc... the only reason the canister is there at all is to help "save" the environment by rerouting vapors back to the intake manifold instead of letting the escape into the air. The canister holds vapors until they are routed back to the intake.
but if you lived in arizona you wouldn't pass emissions because of the fault code until you get it fixed.
Could be a cracked cannister or a bad hose.
