Excited first time jeep owner!

Hi everyone,

I've always have loved jeeps and finally have one of my own. Im the new owner of a 2010 wrangler unlimited mountain edition. Im looking forward to learning a lot more about jeeps now that I own one, and having fun customizing it with time. My first question is does anyone know if removing the mountain edition decal (stickers) from the sides of my hood will damage my paint job? I'm not too crazy about them. Thanks for the help!

I don't have the Mountain but I disliked the decals on mine & think it looks so much cleaner now. I mean, why does it have to say wrangler on it? You can tell it's a Wrangler at first glance.

Anywho, I just parked it in the sun & peeled them off. I used dental floss to get the trail buttons off. I thought they were particularly ugly. Just go slow on the button so you don't dent your fender. A hair dryer would work too.

Oh, Welcome to the Forum!!!! Lot's of really neat Unlimited's here.

well first off good choice on the package you chose. i too have a mountain package. as you can see in my pic i dont have the not so attractive stickers on it. i had the dealership take them off before i took delivery of the jeep. i watched them do it and you can do it yourself. the guy took a heat gun and heated it up a little bit. then he got the corner peeled up and started going from there. once it is warm it will come off pretty easy. and if you have any residue left you can take an adhesive remover and wipe it down. there are many on the market.

if you dont want to take on this task yourself then you can probably go to a decal shop or a window tint place and they can take it off for a couple of bucks.

Welcome aboard! I found the best way to remove stickers is the heat gun method. Low setting, back and forth over the decal. Should pull up the sticker without damaging the paint.
