Few questions, wating a Jeep.

So I have always loved the Wrangler. Father in law has had 2 and always lets us take it when it's a nice day so that has just boosted my feeling on one. His it all stock with just Rubi wheels and tires he got free from a friend. Nice deal if you ask me I love those wheels and tires... Anyways tax return is coming and im hoping to pick up a jeep. Nothing special, just something fun for summer and 4x4 for winter. As of now my winter car is a Saturn Ion Redline with snow tires which does okay, but 20"+ of snow in Ohio in the last week or 2 is hurting lol.. So would this be a decent deal?

"1966 CJ5
It has a 4cyl and 5sp swap out of a 1992 2wd cherokee into a currie center diff (It is 4WD)... It runs strong. Starts every time. I have doors, and a bikini top."
He's asking $5,000

I know no heat which is really really not good for me living in Ohio, but I have 2 new cars, and something classic might be a cool change.

Just for fun... My other 2 rides.
2004 Nissan 350Z 35k miles, bought her with 13 miles...
Summer Fun, suspension fully built, handles like a bat out of hell.

Daily Driver
2005 Saturn Ion redline, 40k miles, supercharged, stock and pretty fun really.

Sorry for the long post... Just saying HI and telling you a little about me. Any help would be great on what to look for... Looking around the 5,000 range, so if you know of anything let me know.

i dont know too much about CJs but it looks like a pretty nice Jeep... the 4cyl is not the best some people dont mind it but others dont like it and it can struggle at highway speeds and i would make sure the person who did the swap new exactly what they were doing so you dont run into problems later but you make it sounds like it runs well, lack of heat would really suck... welcome to the forum and im sure some other guys will know more then me about it

I had a 4cyl, doesnt do that well on the highway, but if you dont mind it and can deal with it, then to me it looks like a great jeep, expecially for a cj, don't find too many in that good of shape I feel like.

It looks vey nice in the picture. Get a magnet and check for bondo. Its hard to find an old CJ without a lot of rust. There are a lot of jeeps to be had out there with heat for 5 grand but if you are looking for an old CJ it looks very nice.
Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
