Hello from Southwest Illinois,
I just bought my first Jeep, a 2008 Wrangler and have many questions. I am putting a 2 1/2" lift on it next week and I want to eventually replace the wheels and tires, right now it has the stock 17" alloy rims with Wrangler SRA 255/75R 17's, I have some Pro Comp 17x9 Flat Black wheels picked out, my question is about backspacing, I see the wheels I'm looking to buy have 4.75" backspacing, how does that compare to the stock wheels? Same? Different? Will they make the wheels stick out a little more? less? For now I was going to use the stock tires on the new rims, and try to go with a little wider/larger tire when I replace these tires, what size tire should I use on the 17x9 rims without getting too large and creating problems. I will be using my Jeep mostly for backroad cruising, some highway and occassional offroad, but nothing too serious. Any advice would be appreciated.
