Smile First Time Jeep Owner

Just purchased a 2005 Jeep Wrangler X...only has 6K miles and in beautiful shape. I have a question: When installing door entry guards it may require doors shims...how's this possible with a hardtop?

Welcome to the forum.

What "door entry guards" are you installing?

Most of the little door entry guards are just stick them on and go with no need to shim....even though you can just adjust the hinges themselfs.

Never seen a jeep that needed the doors adjusted for entry guards.

Do you have a link to the guards?

I highly dought you will need to adjust the door at all bud. Looks as most all door entry guards for jeeps do.

Welcome. And I agree. I don't think you need to do anything to the door either.

Welcome!

Welcome to the forum by which all others are defined. Glad to have you along for the "crawl." I have an '04 soft top and, surprisingly, the addition of a particular door entry guard from Quadratec did actually tighten the fit of the door around the frame. I didn't have that with my '01. I still don't see how it would make a difference with a hard top versus a soft top. Again, glad to have you on the team.
