I'm new to this forum and have enjoyed browsing everyones ideas and rides. I came across WF while doing a google search for removing the front speakers in my '09 JK X. After starting to take them out I realized that there was a much easier way to replace the speakers so I registered here to add my 2 cents. Turns out the post I read was from last year and I thought that everyone already figured out a better way to do the job so I didn't post.
I bought my 2nd Jeep (1st Wrangler) October last year and couldn't be happier with the purchase. I was sick of making 3 point U-turns and the fiasco of parking in a crowded lot with my quad cab Ram that I traded in. Although I do miss the truck bed when I want to ride my dirt bike alone or buy something larger than a push lawnmower.
I bought my Jeep with 13k miles bone stock with the 29" tires on steel rims. Since then I have replaced the wheels with 33" on 16's, added nerf bars so my daughter can get in easier, changed the front bumper to a stock Rubicon bumper with fog lamps and tow hooks, tow package and most recently a sound system minus subwoofer....for now. Next up is a custom enclosure mounted on rear driver side wheel well, evap skid plate, flat fenders, grill guard with KC lights and maybe 2" lift. I realize that like "most" jeeps this will be on-road 99% of the time but I want it capable to explore the desert at least once a month. This is the first vehicle I've purchased without buyers remorse, and the most fun to drive also.
