future jeep owner

ever since I got my license 18 yrs ago I've wanted a jeep, but either never had the money or just thought it was impractical for someone starting a family. Now that I have a practical family van that i'm keeping i can finally buy my jeep.
I've gone 4 wheelin once with my cousin in his 99 stock 4.0L Sport and enjoyed it very much (except for the water running in the jeep). I don't think i'll be doing any off-roading though until i pay off the jeep that i'm planning to buy.

Welcome to the forum.

What kind of Jeep you looking at?

May I suggest a 99 TJ, maybe even in black with some new 33's and rocker guards free thanks to this forum.

Thank you all for the warm welcome.

Since im new to this, I don't want to be all gung-ho and get a rubicon, so I'm stickin with a base X with the S package, manual w/ soft top with 17" tires. I'm also throwing in side airbags, side steps, and limited slip rear differentials. I still haven't decided if I want the Power convenience package just to get the alarm or just leave it as it is. do their alarms even have a proximity sensor for when the top is down? Am I better off with an aftermarket one?

I came close to getting an 07 base sahara with 18" tires on the lot which they were giving to me at the same price to the one I configured but it had half doors, which was a deal breaker for me. I remember my cousin's half doors and I didn't like the zippered windows. Granted it looked beautiful with the top down and the upper half off, but it was still a pain. Plus it would only be used and removed for only 4 months out of the year.

Welcome to WF

once you get your new jeep dont forget to wave!

dont get 18" wheels, they will suck offroad and be hard ot find tires for, if you think you will get into wheeling you really should get the rubi, but i know it is REALLY expensive, and as for the power convienince same thing, if you plan on going off road and going though streams it will only cuase problems, but if not then its is very nice ot have, it all depends on what oyu think you will end up doing with it
