I bought a six-speed '07 JKU in July 2007. Tried wheeling on my own a month or so before I went to the Maine Mountains Jeep Jamboree in Oct. 2008. Started building my Jeep up as soon as I got back. Went back to Maine in 2009. In June 2010 I joined Northeast Jeep and wheeled the Old Florida Road for the first time. I have been to two more Jamborees (Catskills & Killington) and many trips with the club since then.
I have a Clayton 3.5" short arm lift, 35" Goodyear MT/R with Kevlar tires, Currie Anti-Rock sway bar up front, dual Optima gel batteries, Rugged Ridge stubby bumper with Warn XD9000i winch, Rock Hard 4x4 tire carrier rear bumper, Shrockworks Rock Sliders, RCV Ultimate CV axle shafts up front, Eaton E-locker up front and Detroit Auto Locker in rear.
My Jeep has almost 120,000 miles. A few months ago I lost first gear while wheeling Ma Bell. After starting off in second gear for months, the clutch went a couple weeks ago. If all goes as planned, I will be swapping the manual transmission with an auto out of an '07 JKU with only 42,000 miles.
Our club is having a meet & greet at the Hooker Brewery in Bloomfield, CT on Saturday March 23 at 3pm if anyone is interested in joining or just likes good beer.
I am hoping to get to the brewery, but I actually have a buddy who is going to school me and a couple other guys on how to REALLY homebrew. He's got a 20 gallon set up. If we finish early enough, I'm going to head over to Hooker.
