guage pannel not working

I pulled out my battery to have it tested and when I was putting it back in I made the stupid mistake of hooking up the wrong terminals (I have and excuse but I won't go into it). Anyway it fried the fusible link that runs into the fuse panel under the hood and after replacing it with a fused wire everything started to work again except the instruments on the gauge panel. The lights work and the red light even comes on when the gas gets low. I've check all the fuses under the hood and behind the glove box as well as traced the wires out and can't find anything wrong. If you have any suggestions I woudl appreciate it.
