Happy Christmas From A New Member- Egypt

Hi there

I'm a newbie to the forum, and I've just moved to Cairo, Egypt. I hope some of the experienced guys can advise me on desert spec.

I want to explore some of the deserts around here and a quick internet search seemed to suggest that Wranglers beat all-comers on sand.

Question I have though is, which model and which spec should I go for to be able to keep going in the sand when the Prados/Pajeros / LCs are up to their arches in the golden stuff.

I take it from the rareness of 4door models, and the lightness /, that 2 doors are the way to go.

I dont really know though if its best to search out an auto or stick with manual, hard/soft top , wider wheels I assume ?

Any help on desert driving most welcome.

Look forward to the forum

Howdy, Jeepo. Welcome to WF.
Wranglers are great in sand. I can't really answer your questions but someone who can should be along soon.

i prefer a manual in the sand.....deep sand seems to cook an auto if you're not paying attention.
