Hardtop and 1/2 doors

banghead:Hello Jeep Lovers,

i have a 94 YJ with softop and 1/2 doors and i need a Hardtop. I use the Jeep to pick up the kids and drop them off at school and last winter was a bad one. Can i use a Hardtop with the 1/2 doors? this would only be a summer thing cause I might pick up the full doors as well. can i use the hardtop off of a 89 YJ with my 1/2 doors?

When they built the YJ, the hard top people and the soft top people at Jeep weren't talking to each other. So the hard top has a rounded upper door opening. And the soft top has a square one.

The LOWER doors will work no problem. If you have upper half doors, they may not fit.

Yes, you should be able to use any combination of upper and lower doors with a TJ.

You're going to most likely need to adjust your upper doors when you get the hard top on. The little collars that control how far up or down it sits, and bend the whole door in or out to make a nice seal w/ the hard top. But that's easy.

welcome to the forum... the hardtop will fit but like Geoff said you might have a problem with the top half of your 1/2 doors and it might look a little funny
