Hello all from southern az...

Hey all, hope everyone is doin' well and all. Well, my name is Collin and I currently live in a small town surrounded by 2 mountain ranges and a lot of desert and various rated trails...needless to say, I'm in 4 wheel drive heaven..lol. I have owned a few 4x4's in the past and finally got lucky enough to pick up a 92 yj model wrangler, yeah for me!! Seriously, I'm happy as hell pickin this rig up. Basically, it's pretty much stock and needs tires soon but in great shape otherwise. My wife did get me an extended bikini top for the impending fathers day. I do have a question though for my first major upgrade...I'm looking @ getting a 3 1/2"-4" lift and getting 31" tires, I know there's a possibility I'll have to get the speedometer recalibrated but was curious to know if I'll have to change the gearing to accommodate for the larger tires. Please email me or just respond to this thread, thank a mil!! Also lookin for some new friends with the same interests. Let me know and have a great night everyone.

Welcome to the Forum Collin

You won't have to go that high to push 31's up under it and they won't make enough of a difference to necessitate recalibration.

True enough, but I also want that clearance from the fenders and from the frame to the ground if I get into some particularly tough situations, my dads cj7 stands at a higher clearance stock that my wrangler so I want the clearance he has but also the upgraded equipment.
