Hello from England!

Afternoon All,

Just wanted to hop on board and say hello. As the heading says I am in England and currently drive a Dodge Nitro and I am in talks with my local dealer to purchase a Wrangler Ultimate 4 door, needless to say in black.

The Nitro I guess is a relative and been pretty decent having owned it from new. I have owned it 3 years now and apart from servicing and a few warranty issues it has been cool.

In general are there any suprises I can look forward to if I take the plunge. I have driven it and like the even more basic level, apart from the heated seats or lack of - thats my wife.

Thanks in advance and once again Hi

Welcome aboard! You will love your new Wrangler, but you might find it doesn't get the mpg's or kpg's that your Nitro got.

Welcome aboard fellow newb. I'm a proud owner of an Unlimited 4-dr in black and have over 20k miles on it with zero problems. I've taken it off road, through snow storms and (worse, yet) through Washington, DC traffic. I love it! Make sure to get the in-dash Satellite nav and sat radio. It's an excellent option. Also, the Freedom top has been great for me as it quickly accomplishes the convertible feel while also giving me the security to park it in a sketchy neighborhood. Enjoy the new Jeep!!

I am live near Darlington, which is in the North.

BTW, thanks for all the comments so far. It is very encouraging to know there are no problems.

I am buying one out of the showroom so there is no scope to add toys and I would have liked the sat nav however it is a great deal so happy days.

Ah, very nice. I drove through that area once on my way up to Edinburgh. We stopped at Sherwood Forest and Belsay Hall and Castle. I lived a year and a half in the Cotswolds and I moved back to the states in March. I must say I miss living over there.

Ya. We lived down by Swindon and Cirencester at RAF Fairford. What I was saying was that I drove right passed Darlington on on our way up to Scotland. I can't wait to get back over there again. There is so much more I want to see over there. I picked up an Austin Mini and am shipping it over here. It should be here next month.

Clarkson is the dude with the frizzy hair and 6ft 5". The boxy blue car, Suzuki Leana is a really cool feature although you probably haven't heard or seen the "celebrities"

I guessed you must be in the Military or something similar. Menwith Hill is not too far from where I am.

That Mini will be Uber Cool over there!

Yup, I'm military. I've heard of Menwith Hill but never been there. I've been to Mildenhall and Lakenheath a few times but that's it.

And ya, the Mini will be Uber cool. I can't wait.

LOVE Top Gear. Favorite 3 episodes:
- Toyota (Hilux) pickup truck gets destroyed
- Prius loses to M5 in fuel efficiency
- Dog sled vs. 4WD race to the North Pole

Thats it! All done dusted and delivered!

Love it, its really cool and quite a different ride to my out going Nitro but in a good way.

The only one thing which is a bit pants is the ICE nothing like the premium Infinity. That is the job high on the list and to get the wheels powder coated matt black.

Any ideas on the ICE?

I've always preferred a Pioneer head unit with either the Infinity Kappa's or Alpine Type-R speakers.
