Hello from Ft. Lauderdale / 98 TJ Wrangler

Greetings,
Just bought a 1998 Wrangler 6 cyl... Never had one before... Had been thinking about buying a Jeep for a while and scored a good deal, I think...
It's gonna need some TLC and I'd like to know if it's feasible to add AC???

Cheers,
Capt Mark

Howdy! Don't worry about having AC, just take the top and doors off and you will be fine!

Welcome to the forum. While most people enjoy the top and doors off, there are people that enjoy the AC and it helps with defrosting a lot. Try Jeep air conditioning components and complete A/C kits for all Jeeps if you really want it.

But it was 96 degrees here today!!! With the humidity the "feels like" temp was 108 degrees... whaaaaaaaaa!!!
The top is off... hey, I'm having trouble with the hand screws that hold the door frames on, 2 of them just turn but ain't turning the treads... Is there a trick or do I gotta take a blow torch to them???
Cheers,
Capt Mark

You are removing the nuts on the hinge pins, right? I have never put the nuts back on. A lot of people just cut the threaded section off.

No, I'm trying to remove the door frames... the screws that have the 2" round plastic handles that tighten the frames to the roll cage... it appears as though the metal screws are just slipping in the plastic handle piece...

By the way; when wanting to shift into 4wd, does the jeep need to be at a full stop???

Any legal speed for 4hi, barely rolling for 4lo. The part you are trying to remove I think is the door surrounds. I can't help you there as I have a supertop that doesn't use door surrounds.
