Hey all! I've been lurking around the forums for about a month now and decided to finally create an account. I'm 20 and new to the Jeep scene. I've been a long time honda owner(Yeah yeah...I know I know...) and recently purchased my YJ about a month and a half ago. It's a 1990 with the 4.2L straight 6 5 speed. I purchased it from the family of a long time friend who had recently passed away at a very young age. I drove it one time and then parked it to begin working on it..I didn't feel to safe driving it because of the amount of rust and where it was located(rear shackle mounts and from under the seatbelts going across the floor. Since my initial purchase of the YJ, I've ordered a new drivers seat, the autorust repair kits for rear upper shock mount, rear shackle mount, and upper rear shock mount. The interior has currently all been pulled out and I've pulled off the side steps and fender flares to begin repairing the typical rust that starts to build up under them. I'm addicted already. I get up go to work, have the itch the whole day to work on my jeep. get off and go straight to working on it. once I have it up and back together and get to drive it for a little while, I plan to monstaliner the tub. Later this evening it's time to drop the gas tank and metal brushing with evapo-rust and permatex where I'm welding on new pieces and get it ready for some welding this weekend hopefully! I'm glad I made this purchase it's a lot of work, but I've learned a lot and sort of dedicated the project in memory of my friend who passed away. and Just Emptying Every Pocket is quite alright with me right now. Thanks for all the information I've already found here, and luckily I have my dad(he has a JKU) who helps me with any problems I run into and suggested this forum to me.I'm gonna try to attach some images of the jeep from before I started tearing it apart. and may upload a few later tonight with what I've accomplished so far. Thanks!
and yes, I did remove the fake bullet holes, don't worry.
