Hi everyone, my name is Jerry. I'm new to this site about a month ago & haven't actually introduced myself.
I've grew up in the back of a '76 Toyota FJ 40 as a kid and was forever hooked after that. I bought my '99 TJ bone stock, late in '99, (it was a late '98 build), with 9k miles on it.
I paid it off early & built it up myself over the years. I did everything to it myself & had a great time with family & friends, building & wheeling it.
I own my own business, & was able to get into a position to go back to school, something that I had always wanted to do. Unfortunately, this caused a life change that threw a crimp into my Jeeping as I had come to know it. My commute is long, & I'm gone a lot. My Jeep was not a good fit for this, it had become a weekend driver/ trailer queen, so it sat, sat & sat in the garage.
But I missed a Jeep. I went & drove a '14 and was hooked. I could again have a car during the week, and a Jeep on the weekends. I decided that I'd sell the '99 and put the money down on a new one. Within three hours of hanging the "for sale" sign, a friend of mine who had heard the news that I was selling it, called me up & bought it. He picked it up the next day.
After I ordered my new rig, excited, I went looking for forum chatter on it, and that's how I found this site. I was on another Jeep forum a while back, but became disinterested in it because it seemed like every thread became an ego measuring competition or a flame fest in one way or another. This board is different, and after being here a while, I really like the community.
I'm looking forward to getting to know some of you, learning about the JK, sharing what I know about a TJ.
