hey yall got my first Jeep this week need help

Ive always wanted a Jeep so I traded in my jacked up dodge that I tore up. Dont plan on doing the same to my 05 Tj. I want to start this project with a custom front and rear bumper. Im a welder/fabricator so I just need some drawings. Cads would be perfect. Nothing too plain I want it tobe impressive. And which suspension lift would be best for a set of 33s. Dont want to go too big cause its already a pain in the ass to get my son in and out of it. thanks yall

My hubby is a welder, amazing fab man.
What we did when it was time to do my bumpers/sliders was a ton of research then combined what we thought were the best of the most desirable to create a one-off that works like a dream for my rig

On that note, I have seen so many people DIY bumpers that are ugly, non functional and generally a waste of materials that I would like to suggest that you go e-shopping to get some good ideas for what you want. Most folks that DIY this kind of thing just do it the old fashioned way. Sketch it out, measure it up, cut, fit, weld & finish.

It's important to know a few things though. Be sure you have a good place to mount your winch and SOLID recovery points that you can run a shackle through.

Good luck to ya and enjoy that new rig!

It will be cool to see what you come up with Rick!
Where abouts are ya located?

Here are some pics of my front bumper build, just to whet your whistle

If you decide to post a build thread, give me a holler, I'd like to see it. I enjoy watching folks doing creative things.

I just seen this. Im in Charleston, SC. I like that design for your bumper. I like seein a littke different character in peoples work. I will be postin my work whenever I get to it but I havent even bought material yet. Probably gonna start with a roof rack first and ill be making it out of aluminum pipe. Material is easier for me to get considering its free for me.

Better make sure its the right kind of aluminum or it won't hold up.
Not to impact or as a recovery point.

I killed a toyota with mine last year, and all it did was scuff the paint and broke the fog light mount.
I bounce it off of rocks, and again, just marks up the paint and I would be completely comfortable tying a strap to it and dangling my Jeep in the air from it, knowing it wouldn't give.

Well im just.makim the roof rack aluminum noy the bumpers. I just need it to be able to hold randoms little things and.a.few lights. I make ttops n stuff for boats so ittl be the.same material and those tops have outriggers and whatnot so I know it can withstand what I need it to do.
