hi everyone!

hiya!

my name is Erin, and i just bought at 92 wrangler islander and i LOVE it! my friends are constantly laughing at me because i spaz out when i get the jeep wave. it makes me so happy!

too bad that saying, "dogs love Jeeps!" isn't true for my dog- she hates the noise of the soft top, esp at freeway speeds.

i live in Seattle, Wa and so far i haven't taken the soft top all the way down since we have that ever present threat of rain, even in july. maybe next year i'll get a hard top, but for now i'm spending all my spare cash getting my wrangler in tip-top shape and ready for snowboarding season. i can't wait!!

TIA for the warm welcome, and i look forward to learning a lot!!

Welcome! Sounds like you have the bug, and it's good to know the wave is alive and well in the northwest.

Hey neighbor welcome! I live in Issaquah and commute in to Seattle. Have to admit I have been a little reluctant to pull the soft top completely off since moving the rig up here from Cali in June.

Is a islander a wrangler or a cherokee?

I just had never heard of a islander Wrangler. Was it a certain package from factory or a sticker the dealer slapped on?

i think i may do that today or tomorrow- looks like the weather should be nice for the next few days.
might even go one step further and take the top completely off, tho if i do that, we're guaranteed rain.

welcome and that's the fun of owning a jeep getting stuck in a rain storm but if u are smart about it just put the top down and u should be ok or find a good spot to catch a bit to eat and wait it out

Welcome Aboard Shipmate!

Cheers!

With regards to the "Islander" package, looks like it ran somewhere around Model years '89'ish-'92'ish. I found quite a few listings for "Islander" models For Sale, within theses years. Here's a pic of one that has a little better Close-Up of the "Islander" logo:

Welcome to the forum. There's tons of info on here! I live in Centralia just a little south of you. So have you put your soft top down yet with the HEAT wave we've been having? I love driving topless at night...it rocks, a little toasty during the day though. Have fun in the islander 8)
