New owners here. We just bought the wife a 1995 YJ, bone stock. Has 190k on it at the moment, so it was preventative maintenance time.
Changed the oil and filter with 10w-30 Castrol High Mileage
New air filter
New fuel filter
New plugs and wires.
Already runs much better than when we first drove it. 4 cylinder, came with a 3" lift. Broken rear track bar bracket, which a friend since replaced with another bracket. (I know, uneccesary, but it feels more planted as a daily driver) Forest green body, in pretty good condition, and the paint is in great condition. Spice hard top and interior. We bought a Bestop soft top, which was a pain to stretch from new, but it looks great. 31" Mickey Thompsons on it, which was nice for our first off-road outing with it, even if they're a little low on tread. The tranny is the old 3 speed, which is starting to slip and is a bit leaky, but otherwise we both love it.
If anyone has any recommendations for more work, or where to get a good trans, let me know.
