New Wrangler owner stepping in! Bought an '07 JK Unlimited Sahara last Saturday with 53k miles on it. I went with the Unlimited because I have a Rottweiler and an American Staffordshire Terrier who share my home and my car with me, and it is easier to get them in and out of a 4-door vehicle. Besides, I can carry more gear in the Unlimited!
While I am new to the Wrangler, I'm not new to Jeep. I bought a '97 Grand Cherokee Laredo back in '99, and it has been a fantastic vehicle. I've never had one ounce of trouble with it and have only had to perform the most basic of general maintenance; spark plugs, wires, shocks, struts, exhaust, and brakes. It has NEVER ONCE let me down mechanically, and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a daily driver for about 6 years, and now has 200k miles on it, and I decided that I wanted to finally pull the trigger on the much-coveted Wrangler. The Cherokee was used for some VERY minor off-road excursions, and I'm hoping to enjoy the Wrangler MUCH MORE off-road. I am a 'greenhorn' and am excited about learning more about Jeepin', sans asphalt.
Looking forward to sharing pics and stories, and learning from the 'seasoned vets' of the Wrangler world.
