hello everyone, i am new to the site. i live in south south texas, like 2.5 hours from the bottom tip, on the gulf of mexico. corpus christi, if you've been here or want to google it.
anyways, new to this site but not forums in general and not new to jeeps. still basically new to wranglers because i bought my wife one (its her dream vehicle) and after driving it for two months, i decided i had to have one too. i traded my 87 cherokee which had a 5" lift and everything worked perfectly on for my 87 wrangler laredo. none of the center gauges worked and the ac came on but no cold air. the wrangler did have the auto tranny, 99 cherokee inline 6, hard top, hard doors, a new bikini top, and rubicon 16" wheels and tires.
i have been working through the issues with the gauges and have all of them fixed but the fuel gauge (i have a new sender for it though) and i have been dealing with a slipping reverse gear now too. the person who swapped the engine into this wrangler failed to swap the fuel injection over though so it has a weber 34 on it and its ok but i feel like the carb is to small for the engine as i ran a 32/26 on my little 2.0 bmw.
i really enjoy the jeep though and have driven it from san antonio and downwards as a daily driver and weekend run around jeep. my two boys love it too because they like being able to climb up the wheels and jump into their seats and the wife likes it (should, its comparable to her 93 sahara) too.
just saying hi though. some people will probably recognize me from jeepforums and jeepz (and maybe even bimmerforums and e30tech) as i frequent those other jeep sites also (not so much on the bmw sites anymore, no more bmws)
