Jeep newbie (IL)

Just swingin by to say hi. Just finished acquiring a 97 TJ, 4.0, 5 sp. Still has some electrical issues, but its still a blast to drive. Its actually the wife's, and she's naturally head-over-heels in love with it. We're absolutely desperate for some hard doors for the thing, the Bestop softies arent our style. I tried to post up a WTB ad, but Im denied. So if anyone from IL/WI/IA/IN would like to trade some brand new softie Bestop doors for some hard doors for a 97 and cash, call me at 630-723-8688.

Anyways, great to be here! Its our first Jeep, and we're totally stoked. I have a few friends who also own Wranglers. I have a buddy who's buying a 5.5" lift from Genright for his 98 TJ. Ill get pics once we're done installing that beast.

THanks for the warm welcome, guys! The whole waving thing is unique, but it seems only lifted Jeepers do it? When I was driving my buddies TJ with a winch and 32" All-Terrains, I was getting waved at by other modded Jeeps, but with our stocker, not a peep? LOL

Do yours have any issues? The reason I ask is because in high winds, our softies will actually bow out and the area around the door seal (near the A pillar) pushes out about 1/2" or so, which would SUCK in the rain! We were looking for full hard doors to alleviate that issue, its annoying.

Welcome, I have half doors with fiberglass uppers/slidders and love them. In the winter, I would like to have the full doors simply for extra warmth!

Half doors fit better than softies. I've never noticed a problem with mine not staying sealed at speed. I have soft uppers. Half doors have more elbow room than full doors and a much nicer arm rest area and are great for top down days, since it takes 30 seconds to remove the uppers

I can't imagine that anyone would do their daily driving with softies. Sounds like your po either had his full doors jacked, (they bring a good price on ebay), or was hard up for cash and sold them.... Mostly full soft doors are used for emergency (rain) protection, or for trail riding...

If you were more local, I might be able to help take those soft doors off your hands...
