Jeep Noob in Nevada - what to buy?

Love the body style of the TJ. For some reason, to me, Jeeps should have round headlights! HA HA
Anyway, I've been around Jeeps a lot, but could never justify spending the $$ on one, as for my purposes in the past, it was too impractical. But now, things have changed. Looking for something to drive around town and hit some trails. This is a 3rd vehicle behind the luxurious mini van and my full size truck.
I know I want a 4.0 and Auto; with Air. Would prefer full door as opposed the the half doors they used to use on the soft tops. My question is, is it out of my $5000 price range? Should I be looking at the YJ instead?

For 5K it is possible to find an older TJ (late 90's) you just have to do a lot of searching. I own a TJ but honestly I have seen some YJ's that I would own in a heartbeat. Take a look at our gallery for some ideas.
Whatever you decide, you won't regret it.

Good luck with your search and ... Welcome to the Forum.

Thanks for the welcome! Hopefully I can find a TJ by the end of summer for $5000-$5500. YJs and CJs are great too but I think I have my heart set on the TJ.
