Jeep shopping

Ok don't yell at the new guy that's not even part of the club yet lol. I am in the process of transitioning out of the Marine Corps, heading back home to Indiana and looking for a Jeep. Right now I have an 05 Dakota that has all the fixin's (well, what little aftermarket stuff that's available for it) and even tho I love my truck I am getting rid of it for a Jeep. I am looking at late TJ's to early JK's because 04-08 seems to be in my price range. Aside from the TJ vs JK articles that are everywhere, are there any common problems that appear in those years that I should look out for? My near future plans are to throw a long arm with 33's soon after I get one, of course that's a conversation for after I actually own the sucka lol. Any info or pointing in the right direction is much appreciated. Thank ya!

IMHO get a 2011, the new interior with the 3.8L before the new 3.6 which seems to have some issues. There are a few people I know that took it in the shorts trading in their '10 or '11's for the new engine, which may have been a bit premature. If at all possible get and '09 - '11. Just my two cents.

I would like to get something that new, unfortunately they run a little expensive for my budget right now. I was in the process of trading my truck, quad, and trailer for my buddy's '10 JK, but unfortunately he wasn't able to transfer his loan. I think I'll be better off with a TJ, to have some extra money to throw around on mods, and aftermarket stuff seems to be a little cheaper for 'em. Thanks for the replies and the welcomes!
