Jeep(YJ) Newbie... with lots of questions

Hey everybody,

Name's Tom, just bought my first jeep(93 yj) last night. It's been pretty beat on so I'm going to be going through it with a fine tooth comb and undoubtedly combing through the forums here for useful intel. Already found so many useful threads. I'm almost not sure where to start.

Anywho... after owning street cars my whole life I decided I needed a get out of town quick(if the stuff hits the fan) vehicle. So after plenty of deliberation I decided on a wrangler. Found mine just a few miles down the road and it's already got a pretty good start to where I want it to end up when I'm done.

In no particular order...

-OX lockers(front and back)
-hardened steel axles
-Superior 4.88 gears
-4" suspension lift
-3" body lift
-33" tires(soon to be 35's)
-AFW front winch bumper
-WARN 8000lbs. winch
-MSD ignition
-K&N filter....
-blah, blah, blah

After I evaluate any issues I'll be back on here to research possible causes and solutions and what not. Look forward to hearing back from you guys.

While I've got your attention though, if you were in my shoes... What would you want to check out first having no first-hand knowledge of the YJ? Flush and replace any fluids, any specific places I need to get greased immediately, etc? Also, what is the best way to keep surface rust at bay, aside from a complete strip down and repaint?

Thanks in advance!

Flush and replace all fluids is a good first step!

P.S. Welcome!
