Just picked up a YJ, eastern NC

Hi everyone, Im Jason and Im form South Carolina, Im stationed on Camp Lejeune right now so Im up in NC for the time being. I just bought a 93 4cyl, 5 speed 4x4 with 142K on it. It looks to be in great shape, no rust on the body, motor isnt leaking anything other than the valve cover gasket a little. Its got some aftermarket bumpers, 15" wheels, 30" tires and a bikini top, plus a soft top that I need to go pick up sometime. The things I dont like are the stereo- the two factory speakers sound terrible so Im gonna need to replace them and find a soundbar to put in. I wanna get some 33's and lift it a little, but Ive never owned a 4x4 before so I need to research and figure out exactly which route I wanna go... I was also thinking about removing the rear seat and getting the bestop halftop cover - Bestop Halftop Soft Top for Jeep Wrangler YJ at Morris 4x4. Does anyone have any experience with that halftop? Its pretty expensive so I want to make sure its a good investment cause we get a lot of rain here during some parts of the year and I wanna keep myself dry during that time cause this is my only vehicle.

Another thing I noticed was that it grinds going from first to second pretty often, so I think the synchros are going bad. Thats a common problem with this transmission isnt it? Thats all for now, on to the pics cause thats what everyone always wants to see. I would appreciate any advice you guys could give a new jeep owner btw. Thanks

yeah Ill post over there once I do more research so I dont sound like a complete tard. Ill talk to Geoff too when Im ready to buy the top, thanks for the tip. I also found a 4.0L motor with an ax-15 from a 2wd '92 for sale locally for $300, is it worth picking them up and rebuilding just to have as a spare? They have 180K on em
