Kinda new to the forum

I was on a few years ago and regretfully sold me YJ. I now have a 97 TJ with a 4 banger and 33" Baja Claws. Im a machinist/ fabricator/ carpenter/ mason. at least 2 of the will help me in the Jeep life. My plans are to build my own frame drop on a cummins 3.9 turbo with a NV4500, atlas II and Dana 44 front and 60 rear. Plus alot more but that might take a while to type. My 5 year daughter and I have been having fun with it since I got it in May of 09. We hope to have alot more.

welcome back! You need to post up a build thread when it all starts coming together. The 3.9L Cummins, is that the 4BT?

Yes it is the 4BT. I was an engine machinist like 6 years ago and someone paid to have it built. The guy never came back to get it so I bought it for I think $250. Its going to be a while before I start building. I have started building front and rear bumpers. when those are finished I will post pics of them. Then its on to building flat fenders.

Thanks

Welcome back, maybe you can help some of us "not so mechanical jeepers" out with some of our problems.
Good luck on your build.

The day I sold it I went home for lunch so the new owner could pick it up. When the guy drove off my daughter started crying. I tried to go back to lunch and she wouldn't let go. She came to work with me and road in the bucket loader with me. Sad thing is that the loader made her forget about the Jeep. Honestly my experience with building engines was grinding cranks, valve jobs, tear downs, and the occasional build. Most of my builds was when the builder never built a particular engine. I'm good at trial and error when it comes to my vehicle problems. the only reason I got the job is because I was a machinist and the other applicants didn't know the ass from a hole in the ground. If I can help I will do my best.
