London calling

Hi , i am a new Jk owner from London. I have a 2 door Sahara 2.8 diesel on a 2011 plate. Really pleased with it but does it leak when it rains. Going to have to sort it out or it will rot from the inside out.

You could get some bed coating. I ripped out my carpet of my YJ and put LineX in. It is waterproof so my 20 year old jeep wont rust AND i don't need to worry about putting the top and doors on during the summer. Is it the soft top that is leaking or a door that is somewhat ajar?

Hi Frenchie

Im from Surrey, I have a 2011 sport. That leaked. There's a dealer fix .

You are still under warranty until july 2014.

Can you see where the water is coming in ?
The roof is pretty poorly made relying on little pieces of draught excluder to waterproof it. I have an aftermarket convertible roof that is more watertight than the original freedom top. The after market door surrounds have better weather sealing.

Thanks Heinzbean. Not a million miles from you in Basingstoke. The water is entering top of the door by A frame travelling down the door then going into footwell at bottom of footwell by A frame panel. Hopefully new door seals will make a difference as the weather here is non stop rain for January(as you know)

Some Jeepers say new seals work hopefully Hughes at Beaconsfield will fix..

Frenchie its not the door seals its the useless foam they fit to the hard top.

I have an aftermarket convertible roof for summer use and that as more substantial rubbers on the door surrounds. I have been through deep puddles and torrential rain and that doesn't leak. As soon as the hard top is put back I get water in my drivers footwell. I have sourced exactly the same foam rubber and I am going to replace it all myself (cant be bothered with taking it back to the dealer). I am just waiting for a nice day to do the job.
Pack of: 5 x Self Adhesive Peel Off - Black Foam Sheets 175mm x 135mm x 3mm | eBay
This is the foam I am going to fix mine with . cost £3.20 its worth a try.
Also theres a pdf from jeep telling you how to fix all the leaks I have it on my pc. its about 5mb ..its called jk-water-leaks-all. iI am sure its for download on here somewhere.
Gary.

Cheers again Heinzbean (Gary) will look into that foam. Will be interesting to see what my dealer does, they are going to have it for 5 days so at least dry my carpets.

My JK came back after nearly 2 weeks. New door seals and new freedom roof seals fitted and I will say it doesn't leak anymore. We'll done the dealer. For now anyway..

Welcome! I remember seeing a TJ parked on a street in London a few years back (it was red) and thinking, that's got to be the only one for quite a few miles. Looks like I was wrong!
