After seven Jeeps – ’73 CJ-5, ’84 CJ-7, ’02 TJ Sahara, ’97 Cherokee, ’06 Grand Cherokee Laredo (better-half’s chariot), ’08 JK X (lost in a flood), ’09 JK X, and lately looking hard at a CJ-3B sitting locally for possible restoration, we thought it was about time we found the “fountain of wisdom” so we do not end up trying to reinvent the wheel. Have always found the boating forums (iboats/go boating) a great source of ideas and expertise in marine restoration work, so thought we could find similar ideas here.
Along with restoring older/classic watercraft, we are now getting the Wrangler better setup for its working role. We use it for everything from basic transportation to hauling boats and pulling float docks out of the water. It has even hauled off down trees, made the recovery of a sunken jet ski and a even riding mower that went over the bank into the lake. In fact, that is what brought about the latest addition - a new 8,000 lbs winch.
We have already enjoyed several comments and ideas here and we look forward to more. Until later -
