Talking Looking to buy my first and wanted to say Hi/ask a ?

Hey guys and gals,

I'm new to forum and just want to introduce myself. I started looking a jeeps last summer and finally got up the nerve to test drive one on Saturday. Needless to say I'm hooked! It was cool test driving the jeep and having other jeep drivers on the road waving at me. That never happens to me when I'm out in my equinox.

The question I wanted to ask is, when is the best time to buy a jeep? To clarify what I'm asking, the jeep I test drove was a 12 that has been on the dealers lot for over a year. Is there a certain time that the dealer may be more inclined to come up with a better deal? The one I test drove was a Unlimited Sport for 32k (dropped to 31) I feel that that's a lot considering I'm going to test drive a 12 unlimited Rubicon on Wednesday for 34k. Any help in this matter would be appreciated, and I hope to be an owner sooner rather than later!!

Welcome, any time is the best time to buy a Wrangler. Price does not drop to often. between the two you mentioned, I'd go for the Rubi....Good luck..

Welcome Aboard! What do you plan to do with your Jeep? Don't pay more to get a Rubi if you aren't going to use its features.

Hey everyone thanks for the input so far. I do plan to use this jeep for off road, and towing. The rubi has already seen a price drop from 37k to 34k, so to me its obvious that the dealer wants to move it. Hopefully that puts me in the drivers seat for negotiation. I guess we'll see how it plays out when I start talking #'s to the dealer. Hopefully it goes well and I'll have my 1st jeep. Thanks again guys and I'll let you know how I make out.

Dont know what dealer you are looking at, but generally the dealers in south central pa that still have 12s left are the dealers not willing to cut a great deal, otherwise the 12s would be gone already. I find the best time to buy is between the 4th of July and Sept 1. I bought my last few cars from the E-Town jeep dealer. They try to hit you with a higher price first but if you do your homework, they are willing to deal. I was looking at a left over 12 on line a few days ago that has been sitting on a Md. dealers lot since summer. They only wanted to give the standard discounts, thats why it is still sitting there. I wished them good luck with their Jeep musume becasue at those prices, they were not going to move it.

Yeah ztman them not wanting to deal is what scares me. They also have another 12 black rubi that is setting next to the one that I want, sandwiched between 13s. I guess I'll see how much haggling they're willing to do, if any at all.
