Michigan TJ newb

Hey all, names Jeff. I recently bought a Green (obvisiouly) 97' TJ and Im havin a blast with that thing. I had a ZJ and I loved that thing to death but I found great deal. So now the ZJ is gonna be sold since I cant keep em' both. My ZJ was an auto and the TJ's a 4.0 stick so that took a day or two to get used to. I just got back from a little test wheelin and I must say Im impressed. It climbed things I didnt think it would. The forum looks real goo too, Im glad I joined!

Thanks guys. Im glad I found a forum where people are as friendly and cool as they were on my ZJ forum.

Nate- I was actually in Troy yesterday. Its about and hour and 20 minutes away.

Tex- I got some work to do around the house today, I'll snap a few poser shots and throw em up later. Sadly I bought it already pretty built (for what I encounter in Michigan anyways). I wanted a stocker because I love buildin em up but Im a college kid. I had a chance to save some $$. Its lifted 4" on 33's (goin to 35's soon) and locked up in the back with 4.88 gears.

You hit the nail on the head. Im pretty sure it has a 4" lift (I say that because the guy I bought it from got it from another kid that did all the work and he didnt wheel, so he didnt know what was on it). Anyway, when these 33's go Im gonna stuff some 35's under there because at full flex I still got a little room. I think 35's will clear fine. Unless I can find someone who wants to trade my 33's and some $$ for 35's.
Amy-Thanks, I only wish I could say that I had done all the work. Dont worry though, I've still got a few plans. Commin soon:
-belly up skid
-sye and TW drive shaft
-front Powertrax no-slip locker
-35" Mud Terrains
-CB radio
-B&M short throw shifter
-Kirby Ent. oil pan skid
-Home made rock rails (the ones on there suck)
-OBA
Thats the list for now. I might go long arms next summer but for now its good. I also got a few engine mods goin on but thats just another story in itself.

Welcome aboard! Where do you wheel? I live in Howell, that's the reason that I ask, I was wondering if you had some private land you knew the owner of... Oh yeah, nice pics!

Howell eh? Nice. Thats where I usually wheel actually. Right off of Latson rd. Im not sure who owns it but we've been goin for a few years now (actually my friend has, I recently started goin). The police have actually come buy and they dont mind so I guess its fair game. That and sometimes I go to Stockbridge (my family owns a few hundred acres there) if I wann go muddin. Other than that I just go to random places here and there. Im gonna go on a few trips over the next couple months. If your in Howell though you should come with me this Sunday. Im gonna be out there again with a few friends hopefully.
