my $690 barn find D: 1989 wrangler 2.5l

Good evening everybody. I have been reading thru this forum off and on the last 3 years. Havent posted until i finally found my jeep.. Although i was holding out for a 6 cylinder, at just under $700 i couldnt pass it up. Of course i have all the usual problems with it, but am sure i will either find them in this forum or ask about them.

i dont know how to add pics yet, but as soon as i find out, i will post both the dirty barn find, and some of after 8 hours of cleaning.

AWESOME!

Welcome to the forum bud.

I have a random question though if you wish to answer....did you happen to purchase this from a farm near Dixon Missouri?

Sweet find, I would like to find a beater like that with just a little fixing to leave the top down 24/7, no worries that would be great...I like the rollbars on those 2, I think they look sweet.

Hey one newbie to another Great Find, as we say in Ohio, Farm Fresh... Nice clean up work. I just bought my 98 Sport 4.0 with 139000 miles for $2000.00 and then put new brakes, U-joints, radiator, water pump, oil pump and a thermostat in it cause it had sat out in the weater for over a year and a half before I bought it. I thought I got a good deal, you got a fantastic deal... :O)

the clutch doesnt engage fully, the brakes need bled, for some reason after the choke cuts of it idles down and sputters, then dies unless i push the gas pedal. also there is the electrical nightmare under the dash. the guage lights stay on even with the light switch off and the dimmer all the way down. and the heater doesnt work. also i was thinking a soft top and bow kit would be pretty cheap, but alas, $600 for the entire kit.

thanks to all who have welcomed me onto the forum.

i would love to except she doesnt like the whole jeep thing. she is happy with her kia. She is into the whole cute 1.3l engine. lol.. but oh well. can use the extra money for my jeep muahahaha. usually takes about 45 minutes to mow the yard, got it done in about 20 so i can get back to my new home, the garage.

if i find a deal like that of course i would pass it along, i have no need, as i would like to restore/keep this jeep as stock as much as possible. i have finally found my first real rust problem. i laid the windshield down and the seal looks good, but the part the dash top screw too is rusted and all the dash top screws are suted out. i will attach pics tomorrow..
