My First Jeep!

Hello Wranglers! I just purchased my first yesterday. It is a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport S and I absolutely LOVE it!

My name is Lisa. I am a Cost Accountant, but my boring job is now supplemented by an adventurous ride home and thoughts of all the accessories I want, all the stuff I can tow, and boy oh boy, how great it is to not be blinded by headlights from oncoming traffic! I am sitting way up high and have to jump down to get out of my jeep. So, running boards will prolly be my first aftermarket purchase.

Anyone got any comments about the running boards?

Lisa

Because this is the newbie check-in area, you may not get the answers you are looking for. I suggest you check out this forum area and post your questions there, I think you'll get a better response.

No running boards.

Congratulations and welcome to a new way to spend time and money.

Anyone got any comments about the running boards? YES

Don't do it. Check out all the rock sliders (ace, smittybuilt) You can use them for steps also and they look much better. Running boards are for soccer mom's ford explorers.

Welcome Lisa and congrats on the new Wrangler! I made the dealer throw in the Mopar running boards when I got mine. I may eventually switch them out with rock sliders, but in the meantime at least it is a bit easier to get in and out. If I had to pay for them out of pocket, I would definitely do the rock sliders instead unless you don't mind the "soccer mom" look. There is nothing WRONG with the soccer mom look of course-to each their own. And if it will just be a pavement princess with no offroad, then not much use for rock sliders unless you live where parking lots contain boulders for obstacles LOL!

Another benefit whether sliders or boards - decreased possibility of parking lot door dings!
