I am new to this site and am hoping I can get a little help on something.
I have a 1999 jeep wrangler sport. 225,000 miles, all on the original engine and i am the ONLY owner of this jeep. this jeep is the love of my life. i was NEVER going to sell her. But on thanksgiving of this year my 2 year old and i were driving to my moms house when i hit a very rough patch of road, the jeep jumped, the rear end swung around onto the shoulder and sent me across the road toward a swamp. to avoid the swamp i over-compensated and ended up rolling the jeep 3 times. i was thrown from the jeep, but luckily landed in the swamp instead of on the pavement. jeep landed in the swamp as well, on her wheels thank god! unbelievably and thankfully my toddler didn't have a scratch on him, not even a splash of swamp water on him. I, on the other hand, had massive bruises, cuts, stitches etc. all over me.
it's been almost a month since the accident and i am just starting to accept that she's totaled and i have to let her go. I do have someone that wants to buy her for parts (the thought of someone one taking her apart and stripping her down for parts literally hurts me physically), but i have no idea how much to charge. it has body is mostly unusable, but it has new tires, new shocks and the engine was still running after the accident. I've never had any problems with this jeep, just routine repairs etc.
So after all of this, my question is how much do i charge for her? i know the tires alone are worth more than the tow company was going to give me ($300) but i have never sold a car before (in any condition) so i have no idea what's reasonable. any insight would be appreciated.
I got a 1997 jeep wrangler sahara unlimited to replace her, but it's just not the same. i miss MY jeep...
