Never owned a JEEP:(

Looking to pick up a Jeep in the next few months and stumbled upon this cool site!

Any suggestion on my new toy? I like the 97+ Wrangles, but I am open to other. Anything I should steer clear of, problem trannys or engines?

Thanks for any help and look forward to being on the site!

Buy "new" (2008) and stay away from the "Freedom Top" hard top.....it's a "piece-o-crap" (IMHO).

I wish I could afford a new one! I have not heard of the freedom top but I will do a search.

I am thinking of getting a 97-99, can't spend more then 10K

Thanks for the info!

you better hurry. I am parting it out this weekend and it will go back to stock. But hey... I will sell you the stocker for a great price. It will already have a 1.25" body lift, 1" motor mount lift, and some extras.

Welcome to WF!!

I have a 98 2.5L 5Spd. I love it. It's my DD, I go mudding every now and then. I've had it a few months and so far I have no complaints. The 4Banger is good for how I use it. Welcome to the forum

The 4 banger would be nice for the gas milage!

12,500 for the red one.

Don't let the 4 banger confuse you. You won't see much improvement in mileage over the six. My 4 banger didn't get decent fuel economy. You have to remember you are driving something with the aerodynamics of a brick.

Dude...go get a loan for 12K and buy it. You won't regret it. You'll save lot more money buying his with all the killer mods than you would buying a stocker and and fixin it ^UP^. And you'll save him from all that extra labor. I haven't seen it up close yet but I've seen it around town and DANG. It's sweet. I will see it up close tonight though.
