New 00 Wrangler Sport Owner, OHIO

OK...get your "newbie" jokes and laughs outta the way first...

Done? OK then...lol. I have a few questions about making my Jeep "mine".

1. - Does anyone know if there was a specific reason the Wrangler has a yellow (switched) wire connected to the cigarette lighter instead of red (live)? Is it because of the possibility of the interior getting wet? Would it cause problems to switch it to a live connection instead?

2. - The previous owner was in the process of switching all the factory hinges (yellow) with black. The hinges for the rear tailgate were included, but he didn't get to installing them. So when I tried, I think I found out why...the Torx bolts have damn near fused themselves with the aluminum hinges. What is the BEST way to get these out and replace the hinges (replacements come with ALLEN bolts instead).

Thank you in advance...

J-E

You're going to want to pick up a screw extractor. Those torx bits are a pain. Besides that, welcome!
