New 2014 copperhead wrangler - lovin in!

Hi everyone!

Just thought I'd do a little intro thread. I'm a first time Jeep owner. I traded in my 2012 GTI for a 2014 copperhead Wrangler Sport. I'm an avid mountain biker, and the GTI just wasn't cutting it when trying to get to a few of the trail heads (especially in Moab), so a jeep was in order!

So far I love driving it. It's a much different driving experience than the GTI, and honesty, it's more relaxing and enjoyable.

I picked up my Wrangler Saturday afternoon and first thing Monday morning, I had new wheels and tires installed. It looks 100x better!

Anyway, I have a few more mods coming up, so I'll make sure to create a build thread.

Thanks for looking!
- Gary

Hey Gary...I'm new myself to the Wrangler community. Also, an avid cyclist and trying to get into mountain biking. Have you decided on how you're going to carry your bikes? I was thinking just a hitch reciever rack but was told it was scratch the crap out of my bikes...and my road bike is a $3k bike..no thanks haha. So I've looked at top mounted but it looks like you'd have to get 2 racks, one for the hardtop and one for a soft or no top setup. Just curious what you were thinking.

My buddy has a 2 door wrangler and we've been taking his jeep to go mountain biking. He uses a hitch mounted bike rack. The rack has an arm that goes over the front tire and locks it down into the wheel tracks. It's super secure and doesn't touch the bike frame at all. I'll try to find a link to the model that he has.

Btw- I got new wheels and tires installed yesterday. I think they totally transform the overall look of the Jeep.

My friend at work uses this Yakima rack: Yakima 8002598 - Yakima SpareTime Bike Carrier - Quadratec

Add some Rubi rails or aftermarket sliders and that think will look good. Congrats on the purchase.

Interesting similarities in trade in vehicles! My Copperhead JKU should be arriving shortly. I will be trading in a 2012 Golf R.

Love the Copperhead in the 2 door JKs.

BTW, you violated forum rule 136 by posting a photo of new wheels and tires but not providing a write up.

Seriously though, what size Duratracs? Stock suspension?
