New Convert

Hi Guys.

I need a little help so I came here. I was always an avid out doors type and wanted to get a capable 4wd to do some offroading. In Washington state there are a ton of 4x4 trails rated easy to very difficult.

I want to get out to a lake that is on an easy trail but I am kinda itching to do some challenging stuff. However, I am totally new to offroading so I am not going to take any chances until I get my wings...

Anyway. I bought a 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I am a little concerned with how long the jeep is. Nimble is certainly not a word to describe it. However, I am not exactly sure what I can safely do in a stock jeep. Can anyone give me some pointers of things I need especially if I am going solo places? Also, what can I do safely with a stock jeep..

I figure a winch is pretty high on that list and a CB. Do I need to get better tires? Do I need to protect the undercarriage with aftermarket up grades?

This is where I plan to do my first outing - Easy

Fortune Creek Trail

But I hope the stock jeep could take me here - More Difficult

Surprise Lake Trail

Any input would be extremely awesome... Thanks and I look forward to reading this forum...

Welcome to the Forum Wednesday

You will be surprised at what your stock Jeep can accomplish.
I always recommend that you wheel with a friend/s. If you are going alone, make sure to let others know when and where.

Welcome. A portable air compressor would be handy. Post any questions on a forum thread. You will get more response.
