Howdy folks from the Dallas area. Decided to break down and join a Jeep forum as I’m about to invest more time and money in my ’98 TJ that I’ve had for almost 10 years now. It’s a 3rd car that my 10yr old daughter loves riding in, but doesn’t get driven much, and she won’t let me sell it.
Been somewhat of a “gear head” for about 20 years now. Cut my teeth building my Corvette. Was all about horsepower and breaking drivetrains as the power increased. You know how the story goes…blow up an engine, build a bigger one, blow that one up, and so on. Got a little boring after building 3 engines and drivetrains (sold it) and recently spent the last 18 month completely restoring an extremely nice ’90 K5 Blazer (absolutely love the rig). Now that I’m done with that, time to devote a little time and money into my TJ. Thrown lots of bolt-on’s, lift, tires, wheels, etc on it over the years, but time to start having a little more fun with it.
I was amazed at how many active members on this site, and looking forward to some insight on these rigs. It’s the only rig I’ve ever owned that didn’t have a V-8, but the 4.0L has always put out plenty of power for what was needed. Looking forward to digging through the info and asking lots of silly questions to the seasoned Wrangler vets on the site. Will get some pics of the rig posted up this week and get a description of what all I’ve done to it over the years.
I actually hate showing up as a "newbie". I've spent countless hours on Vette & K5 forums learning about the intricacies of each rig. Forums like this have massive value and are by far the best place to find info. Anyway...experienced forum memebr with very little post counts showing over there <<<
