Hey everyone. Name is Lyman. I'm 23, I'm a Marine, just got home december 08. I'm currently working for the sprint cell phone company. I hate my job, but love the money. I"m recently engaged. I currently have a 2008 Dodge ram 1500 hemi sport slt. Also ride a 2008 Yamaha FJR1300.
I'm looking into getting a wrangler unlimited sahara. I love the funcionality of it. I recently got a chance to test drive one. It was a 2007 w/ 33,xxx miles. Had a 2 inch body lift i beleive, ( the sales guy said spacer lift ) and it had bigger wheels/tires. Don't remember the name.
I've never owned nore drove a jeep before. When i drove this one, it was a real struggle for me. I was always adjusting left and right. And the steering wheel seemed really loose. A lot of play in the wheel. Is this common??
My dad also drove it, he is very good mechanically and is very knowledgeable w/ vehicles. After driving it, he said somethin was weird/wrong w/ the steering, and also said the U joints seemed to be going out. He hasn't had or drove a jeep in a very long time.
So i'm going to lerk around on here for a while, probably ask a LOT of newb questions just like anyone other newb.
Looking forward to chattin it up and maybe owning a wrangler soon.
Thanks for reading/responding

So i haven't gotten a chance to drive a complete stock 4 door wrangler. But i'm likeing the vehicle, and the off road capabilities. I can't decide if i wanna go for a hard top or soft top. Kinda concerned about how good the soft top seals or wind noise.

Welcome and thanks for serving.
As for the tops, we have the hard and it works well. Comes off very easy, for those stretches of nice weather. They also make a dual top, so you can have the best of both worlds.
Enjoy your search!
